Brand marketers or retailers can notify subscribers within a 5-mile radius of a limited-time discount, for example, and map the store locations where the promotion is taking place to make it easy for subscribers to take advantage of the offer.

"Events will be a major part of the application," Martin said. "Event promoters, like radio and TV stations, entertainment venues and others, can use eNotify to send out instant updates on events happening at a certain time, in a specific location, and to only those subscribers within proximity of the venue, if desired. The potential for this service to drive both site traffic and foot traffic is tremendous."
